When was the last time you looked at a calendar? You have one on your phone, your computer, and maybe even your wall (my accountant and dentist send one every year).

But I’m talking about a content calendar. In every organization I’ve worked at, it’s been super helpful. It’s certainly more powerful than the 12 printed stock photos from my accountant (even though the dogs are cute).
When your developer content calendar says it’s time to publish another post, you have one ready—written, edited, and staged in your CMS. You have a distribution plan, too… but it can only be as successful as the post allows.
The difference between a dud and a winning post has mostly been determined before you click publish.
If you can identify the pre-publication mistakes to avoid—like mentioning your product before the problem it solves—you’ll set up your blog posts, tutorials, and guides for much greater success.
In our content strategy work with clients, we saw them struggle to communicate these best practices across their teams. That’s what led us to first create these technical content checklists.
They’ve been battle-tested with our clients and represent thousands of hours of hard-learned content lessons.
This is the first time we’ve made them available publicly. In fact, since you read my emails (thank you!), you have a chance to grab them before the price goes up.
Grab the checklists here and use them this week to publish more successful technical content.
P.S. I go into the mistakes these checklists help you avoid in my latest post on the EveryDeveloper blog.
