You’ve heard of Usain Bolt, right? He may be the fastest person to ever live.

Bolt set the world record for the 100m sprint more than 10 years ago.
Two months later, he beat it.
A year to the day after that, he topped it again.
Since 2008, nobody has bested any of these times. Bolt holds the top three 100m slots.
But…
Have you heard of Noah Ngeny?
Probably not. He’s the world record holder in the 1000m.
The longest Bolt has run in competition is 200m. Ngeny has covered 800-3000m.
When it comes to your developer content, a sustained pace is more likely to be successful. Despite the flashiness of Bolt, the many gold medals, and multiple world records… Ngeny’s flexible—and still plenty fast—approach is the one to run toward.
This is not about marathon vs. sprint.
Ngeny’s work is solidly “middle distance.” If you saw him on the track, you might even mistake him for a sprinter. Don’t be tempted by the Usain Bolt approach. The effects of spiky growth are short-lived.
Choose an evergreen content approach that doesn’t require a big splash to fuel vanity metrics.
The 100m and 1000m require different training. The same goes for evergreen content.
