I’m a tool
It’s swear on the couch while wearing underwear season. That’s what I call winter in Portland.
Every time I’m ready to cozy up in sweat pants, the drawstring is all knotted up. So, I sit on the couch trying to urge the thread apart with my fingers.

That’s usually the moment my family, witnessing my struggle, offers me something other than my fingers. Even a dull number two pencil can wiggle through and free my waistline.
If you’ve ever experienced that moment of wardrobe success, then you know the power of a tool.
Recently I wrote about tools as marketing: solve a small dev problem with a simple tool as a way to reach a technical audience. These typically require development work and some planning. So, don’t get stuck on making the perfect tool.
Words can be tools, too. Consider step-by-step instructions, like those you would find in a tutorial. When you follow the process developers take to solve a problem… is it that different from a software tool that gets the same results?
While you plan and build new marketing tools, remember to use what you already have. Look for demos, sample apps… anything you already have lying around (like my trusty sweatpants pencil).
If you want to reach more developers in 2022, I’m happy to be a tool for you. EveryDeveloper has a proven process and we’re ready to show your marketing team how to use it.
Reach out to our team (who may be wearing cozy sweatpants).
