I’m allergic to this phrase
Ah-choo!
You might think it’s the pollen in the air, but it’s not.
It’s all the Q2 announcements that are being prepared.
Too many will include this line:
We are proud to announce…
When I was the editor of ProgrammableWeb, I read that phrase multiple times per day. Another company with another API. 🥱
You can save others from having to figure out why your announcement is important to developers. And a first step is to remove that phrase.
“We are proud to announce” starts with the spotlight on you—your team and your product.
Instead, you want to shine it toward the technical audience who will use your product—their teams and their problems.
You want to follow this simple pattern to engage your audience, whether you have a Q2 announcement, a blog post, or a simple social media post.
Every product and marketing team member needs to see your audience clearly and then engage that audience authentically.
You can be proud of that.
